  • 12 Days Trip to Wellassa & Digamadulla – Day 7

(Day 6)

We still in Ampara & we visited “Budhangala Aranya” in early morning. It was easy to walk in Aranya premises in morning session. We spent couple of time there & came back to Ampara town. We decide to visit Inginiyagala side to cover some important places. First we went to see “Kondawatuwana Ruins”. We went 2 -3 km’s on that road & road condition was very bad. Most of the people in that area can’t talk or understand sinhala. Finally we found a person who can talk sinhala & asked about this place. He mentioned that we have to travel further few kilometers to reach there. Finally we gave up the idea of going there & started our journey to Inginiyagala side. On that way we went to see “Ovagiriya Ruins”. We spent nearly one hour there & we went to Inginiyagala to get our lunch. We thought Inginiyagala was big town. But only one shop in the junction & it also closed. We sawed the name board of “Inginiyagala Rest House” & we went there. It was old colonial typed very large hotel. In there staff mentioned that now a days no any guest for them. They managed the hotel from their bar income. We decided to stay there & we became their only guest after long time. First we had little rest & evening we went to see “Senanayaka Samudraya”. It was very beautiful place to stay in the evening. We stay there more than two hours till getting dark. It was amazing to see sun is going down from Senanayaka Samudraya’s dam. You also realize it when you go through the photos. We completed another big day with lots of happy memories. To which side from tomorrow morning ???
Pls read the next Trip Report to find details from (Day 8) onwards.

Thanks for reading.
