Randomz of Kegalle

This was a one day journey to few random places at Kegalle.

Lunubissa / ලුණුබිස්ස (1340m) and DS rock

Lunubissa / Lunugala and DS rock are two mountains come across on your way to famous Cocogalla Mini World’s End. We have hiked both these mountains with camping at Cocogalla MWE.

Knuckles Sphinx-2 / කිනිහිරිගල-2 (1500+m)

Knuckles Sphinx-2 is situated closer to Corbett’s gap. Conquering Sphinx-2 is a difficult task and I was able to hike it in my 4th attempt.

Gombaniya /ගොම්බානිය (1906m)-Highest of Knuckles mountain range

Gombaniya (1906m) is the highest peak of Knuckles mountain range. This is our one day hike to false popular summit and true peak of Gombaniya.

Sri Pada-Battulu Oya-waterfall trail

Sri Pada Battulu Oya waterfall trail is a different experience to worship sacred peak. We have come across 12+ waterfalls in this route.

Knuckles-Kirigalpoththa / නකල්ස් කිරිගල්පොත්ත (1647m) hike

Knuckles Kirigalpoththa (1647m) is another prominent peak in Knuckles range and well known for misty cap all over the year. This is our one day hike to this lesser known mountain in a clear day.

Pathangala /පතන්ගල (1515m)-The bamboo forest

Pathangala (1515m) is the mountain situated next to famous Riverstone Peak. Hiking to Pathangala is a fight with Bamboos, but end result was beautiful view towards Knuckles massif.

Waterfalls in Rathnapura-Siripagama road

Rathnapura-Siripagama is the second popular trail among Sri Pada devotees. This about waterfalls come across at Rathnapura-Siripagama road.

Last few hours of Uma Oya / උමා ඔය දිගේ……..

Uma Oya is one of a main tributaries of the longest river of Sri Lanka-Mahaweli River (මහවැලි ගග). This is our journey along the last stretch of Uma oya to visit at Uma Oya Falls and Uma Oya Dunhinda falls.

Kamburagala-කඹුරාගල / Topa Gala =400m and Kandegama-කන්දේගම කන්ද (Danigala) =280m

Kamburagala (400m) is a funny shape rock situated in Maduru Oya NP. Kandegama / Dhanigala is situated closer to Maduru Oya reservoir became a popular travel destination in last two years.

This is the continuation of waterfall hunting along A4 road from Rathnapura to Balangoda.
