Wawulpane Cave and Udagama Duwili Fall

Along the Kelani River from Avissawella to Kithulgala

We started our next part from Hanwella fort and proceed to Avissawella where it called “Deganthuduwa”. That is the junction where Sithawaka river met Kelani river. We had an opportunity to go the river waterline of the zone and we were guided by a fisherman over there to the mid of the river on the rocky path.

Waterfall Abseiling on Handun Fall

Waterfall abseiling is not very much popular adventure in Sri Lanka as its cost is high. This is good and the best activity to develop the self-confidence.

Once we came to the facilitator we all went to the Handun fall at Kithulgala/ Belilena. Handun fall is about 60m high. It is the best fall to have this experience.

Mysterious paintings at Kurulangala & Rock carved Buddha Statues at Budupatunna.

The day I did the ‘Nil Diya Pokuna’ exploration, I was eager do the Kululangala too. Once I thought should have done with Nil Diya pokuna exploration, but this can be done in one shot (not on the same day). I buzzed trip partner, Kasun Janaka. He is always ready for adventures trips. So read the trip report by Ashan and called Methananda to check the weather. Everything was on the positive side. And also I remembered Kasun Des was telling about Budupatunna.

When the Going Gets Tough – The Tough Gets Going – Kurullangala…

Someone asked one day what was I really liked to see. I had no hesitation answering that question. Waterfalls, I declared confidently. But, I added, I’m not that choosy when it comes to traveling. Almost everything from Waterfalls to Mountains to Archeology and Paintings is appealing to me. I’m very much a cosmopolitan traveler. When Ana said that he would be visiting Kurullangala, I readily agreed to join forces.

Kurullangala has been a very hot topic ever since it was discovered by the Swallows’ Nests Poachers. Afterwards one of the media group went and videoed the place rousing the curiosity of the nature lovers and environmentalists. As a result many people (well not as many as you think but a good number of them), including the archeological department, took the trouble to visit the place. If you still haven’t come across what Kurullangala is, lemme give you an overview.

05-March, Visit to Surathali Ella, Belihul Oya

hough I have heard of the waterfall and its magnificent play ground it was only very recently that I was able to visit the vicinity by myself.
The waterfall, located alongside the A4 road passing Belihul Oya is a beauty! Not just for the majestic flow of water it brings down on you but also for its tempting rock formation that gives you the much anticipated chills.
