Alugal Lena Mountain / අලුගල් ලෙන කන්ද (=1780m)

Alugal Lena Mountain (=1780m) situated in Knuckles massif closer to Knuckles five peaks. This is our one day hike to Alugal Lena Mountain.

Pambala Mangrove conservation forest and museum

Chilaw is a city with a lagoon which acts as a tsunami barrier, mode of living and the most important aspect which is the bio diversity it provides.

Ibbagamuwa-Kotagala / ඉබ්බාගමුව-කොටගල (520m) hike

Kotagala (520m) is a mountain situated closer to Ibbagamuwa. We had a day hike to enjoy the surrounding view from Kotagala

Memories of 14 Days Trip – Day 7 – 8

We left from Anuradhapura around 8.00 a.m & reached to Jathika Namal Uyana around 9.00 a.m. We spent couple of hours there & came back to entrance around 11.30 a.m. From there we went to Ibbankatuwa Wewa. We had good bath there & we left to see Ibbankatuwa Megalith Cemetery. Now this place developed & maintain nicely.

Two Days Trip to Somawathiya Raja Maha Viharaya

On July 9th morning we started our journey around 5.00 a.m. We stopped our relative’s house in  Mawanella for breakfast.

2 Days Trip to Kudumbigala Aranya & Nearby Important Places

One of our relative every year offer “Dhanaya” for  “Kudumbigala Aranya”. For this trip he is taking large number of people.

3 Days Trip to Donate School Items to Batuhena Primary School in Elehera Bakamuna & visit Nearby Important Places

Same as last year we arrange donate school items for rural school. This time we selected Batuhena Primary School in Elehera Bakamuna area for our donation. 81 children & 6 teachers in that school.

Back to Great Western Mountain-2212m (7th highest peak of SL) and hidden Upper Pundalu Oya falls

Great Western Mountain (2212m) is the 7th highest mountain in Sri Lanka situated closer to Great Western estate and station. I have been there 9years ago and now the hike is not a difficult task with well paved pathways. We have added task to get down to Pundalu Oya side to explore hidden waterfalls.

Camping at Kaudulla “Olumaluwa” campsite

Kaudulla national park probably is the best location to watch elephants in Sri Lanka if you are a big fan. But the exposure given is very much less in my opinion comparing to other national parks.

වැහිගල පතන / ගෙදරගල පතන / Kumaragala range with Jumbos

It has been a long pause from my last report but finally I found some time to do this write-up. Since lately I have found a special interest in Dambulla area and there was a long range which was at the eastern boarder of Dambulla which caught my sight when I did a hike to Arangala.

Sandaraja Wana Arana and Ganthuna Falls

Sandaraja Wana Arana is a sub mountaneous rain forest situated in Dotel Oya area at Kegall district. It is rich in bio diversity. Ganthuna Falls is situated closer to Sandaraja Forest reserve.

Dreams come true-On top of Handapan Ella Plains

Handapan Ella plains is a plateau rich in bio diversity situated at eatern end of Sinharaja rain forest. The famous Handapan Ella starts from this plain.
