  • Rail hike from Nattandiya to Chilaw – 21 Km

I did not have a desire to do a rail hike along Puttlam line though it is very close to my home but, I tempted to do it by seeing the photos of Ashan’s rail hike from Chilaw to Puttlam. As far as I know it is the first rail hike that a person did along Puttlam rail line. After a few weeks of Ashan’s rail hike I decided to walk along Puttlam line from Nattandiya to Chilaw which accounts for 21 Km & Ashan also joined.

On a Sunday morning at 6.30 a.m. we met at Nattandiya rail station from there, we started to walk 21 Km up to Chilaw rail station. We walked almost seven hours to reach Chilaw by 1.30 p.m. During this rail hike we passed six rail stations & came across few trains which were running between Nattandiya & Chilaw.
