In searching of highest peak of Ambokka range (1159m) | |
Ambokka mountain range borders Kurunegala-Matale districts. The commonly known peak of Ambokka is Kondagala and highest peak is known as Salagama Kanda by locals. Earlier we have been at Kondagala and this is our journey to highest peak of Ambokka. |

Selagama mini world’s end is a beautiful destination in the border of Kurunegala and Matale districts. And this is an end of the famous mountain range called Ambokka. There are so many little mountains and ancient temples around this area and we planned this tour along with another hike at Kurunegala. |
Scenic ride to Kallebokka and Hulangala | |
Kallebokka is a estate in Panwila – kabaragala road next to Madulkele, Central Province, Sri Lanka. It is located at an elevation of 1175 meters above sea level. The 360 View point located at the highest peak in the division/estate is the attractive place where most of the locals visit to view the surrounding beauties. We can see knuckles range with it’s highest peaks and the famous Sembuwatta Lake also can be seen. A ticket of 100/- is issued at the entrance passing the village.The road uphill is tough and all vehicles cannot be driven to the top. Bikes and 4 wheel drivers are recommended. You will never regret after reaching the top. |

Misty point-Ambokka (1159m) and Selagama Mini world’s end | |
Ambokka which is an isolated mountain situated at the border of Kurunegala-Matale districts. (Border of Wayamba-Central provinces). It is also called Kondagala කොන්ඩගල (looks like a bunch of hair) and Salagama Kanda (සැලගම කන්ද). Special feature of this mountain is, most of the time peak is wrapped by the mist. No other peaks in this area are covered by the mist like this. |
