Book Donation with AAT Sri Lanka at Galpitiya

Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka (AAT Sri Lanka) while being engaged in taking accounting education to grass root levels of the country, experienced a pleasant surprise in extending its humane hands to a worthy cause under the auspices of its first CSR project on the theme “AAT Samaja Mehewara (Social Mission)” through the intervention of social media. It happened as a result of responses by a Facebook group in reply to a suggestion published by the AAT Sri Lanka official Facebook page offering support to rural schools.

Longest isolated mountain of Sri Lanka – Galgiriya Mountain – ගල්ගිරිය කන්ද

I was used to travel from Colombo to Pollonnaruwa by morning train (Udaya dewi/උදය දේවී) in one part of my life and accidently noticed an isolated mountain just passed Konwewa (කෝන් වැව) station. I could notice this mountain till I pass Moragollagama (මොරගොල්ලාගම) station. As it was large and situated on a surrounding flat ground, aroused my curiosity and found to have it as the longest isolated mountain of Sri Lanka-Galgiriya mountain.

Hasthikuchchi – few hours with the legend of King Sirisangabo and his sacrifice

When the Sun emitted his first rays of the day; it was captivated scenery of a group of elders in white; walking along the narrow road lay on the dame of a village tank. It was the first full moon day of the year (Duruthu poya day). Those devotees were moving towards the village temple located at the far end of the reservoir. Kathnoruwa, the village I had been; was another live example for the ancient concept of Wewayi-Dagabayi Gamayi-Pansalayi (the relationship between tank, pagoda, village (people) & the temple)
