Tips, Notes and Special remarks
  • The roads were all covered in mist from Ginigathhena to Hatton and again from Pattipola to Mahaeliya national park. So be extra cautious when driving specially on a misty day like this
  • Minimize carrying plastic items. Bring back everything you took
  • Leave only foot prints

Originally we planned this trip to visit the waterfalls in Ginigathhena and Hatton area, but since we were able to reach Ginigathhene before 7, made a sudden change of plans and decided to hike the Thotupola kanda. As I mentioned earlier the climate was really cool and the roads were all covered in mist.

On our way to Nuwaraeliya we also came across the famous Devon fall and St’clair fall in Talawakele..

Again from Pattipola onwards we experienced thick mist; inside the park it also remained the same….
