  • Trip Across The Hill Country

This is a four day trip covering the areas Haldummulla, Haputhale, Wellawaya, Ella, Bandarawela, Horton Plains and Hakgala

Day 1
We leave early in the morning from Colombo by car at around 6AM. Our destination for the first day was Haldummulla. On the way we went to Kiridi Ella at Palmadulla. But the waterfall is totally dry because of lack of rain. Also on the way we saw the Surathalee ella at Halpe. There was some water in it. Because of this we have given up going to Bambarakanda falls.

Day 2

In the early morning we went to Idalgashinna from Haldummulla. The road is really bad up to Needwood tea factory (about 2km), after that somewhat ok. Therefore we hired a Three-Weller. The road is climbing up and up, and the view from this road was breathtaking. We went up to the Idalgashinna railway station.
