We already built & donate 5 houses for poor families in different parts of the country. We received information about another poor family in Kalawelaragama in Monaragala area. We decided to visit there & get there details. Then we start our journey on 19th night. We took the 10.45 p.m bus to Monaragala & it reached to Monaragala around 5.45 a.m. Then we came back to Kumbukkana Junction & went to Kalawelaragama village. We reached their home around 7.00 a.m. 4 children in this family & 2 of them were 4 months twins. Father doing “Kulee Weda” & under lots of difficulties he looks after his family. After got all details about their family & promised them to build a new house for them. After spend nearly 1 hour there we return back to Monaragala town. Lot more time we have & decided to visit “Mayuragiri Viharaya” in Weliyaya . This place we missed on our last Eastern Province Trip.
Took a three wheel to get there & got down at turning point. From there 750m walk to the temple as mentioned in the name board. You have to climb many steps to the 1st part of the temple. First you will see the “Sangawasaya” & there was detailed temple map. It was very helpful guide to see important places in the temple. Temple premises spread in large area & you need 2 – 3 hours to cover it. I cover all places except “Balumgala” because it needs more than 1 hour to reach there. I spend nearly 3 hours there & return back to Monaragala. Around 8.00 p.m I return back to home after completing another memorable experience. Pls go through the photos & share my experience.
